Project Overview

The Alexander Bay Silica Project, operated by Antoine Silica in partnership with Sierra Mining and Exploration, focuses on exploring and developing a high-quality silica resource. Located approximately 60 km east of the Port of Esperance, the project aims to extract up to 70 million tonnes of silica for specialty glass production. The project prioritises environmental stewardship and community engagement throughout its development.

Location

The exploration lease E 63/2239 is situated near Alexander Bay, about 60 kilometres east of the Port of Esperance, Western Australia. The main silica sand resource is located well away from tourist areas, with visual retention zones included in the mine plan to preserve the natural landscape. The site is accessible via public roads.

Project Stage

Currently, the project is in the exploration and planning phase, progressing through several key stages:

  • Finalising joint venture agreements

  • Conducting metallurgical and environmental surveys

  • Completing infill drilling and resource assessment

  • Developing detailed feasibility studies

 

The timeline extends through to mid-2026, with capital raising and planning activities actively underway.

What We’re Looking For

The primary resource target is high-quality silica sand, essential for manufacturing specialty glass products. The project aims to confirm and quantify a potential resource of approximately 70 million tonnes suitable for industrial use.

Working with communities

Respect for local Indigenous heritage is central to our operations. We have signed a heritage access agreement with local Indigenous stakeholders, ensuring their involvement and respect for cultural sites. We aim to support the local community through open communication, employment opportunities, and environmental stewardship.
